A World of Colour
Architectural drawings in the main have always been produced in black-and-white, this tends to be the preferred medium and most commonly used format for planning application drawings.
Following the advent of digital planning submission, colour drawings are now becoming possible and we have recently been exploring colour presentation of elevations. We quite often feel that black-and-white is still the way to go as it is quite tricky to present a correlation to accurately represent something that has such a mixed variety of colour such as natural stone or reclaimed brickwork.
Recent updates to our computer software now allow the background of the drawing to be faded which has drastically improved the appearance of colour within elevations.
