Offices into Dwellings
With a recent change in countrywide planning policy, the Government are trying to encourage the change of use of redundant buildings. One of these building types is offices, and it is now possible to gain approval to change the use of an office building into multiple residential flats. Although initially the concept introduced that no planning consent was required, a system is now in place that requires the submission of a prior approval application under the General Permitted Development Order 2015. There are a strict set of parameters restricting what is possible, however if the parameters are followed, prior notification approval is then granted.
