Little Rissington, Steel Frame Barn Conversions
This is the conversion of a modern steel frame agricultural building, to create multiple residential dwellings. Remotely sited in the heart of the Cotswolds, being outside of the village framework of Little Rissington.
Our client approached us having already gained planning approval, this being the conversion of a steel frame agricultural barn to residential use, however our client wanted to re-design the appearance that his previous architect had created. The client also owned a further adjacent barn, so we were engaged to gain planning consent to revise the design of the previous approval, whilst also creating a design for the additional building.
We successfully gained planning approval to convert both buildings into a total of 8x separate residential dwellings.
Converting existing buildings is a delicate process and needs considerable thought and a careful design approach, modern design and styling generally works well, but you are very much restrained by the existing openings and the existing building shape.
Ultimately we were successful with gaining planning approval to convert modern steel frame agricultural buildings to dwellings.
