Building regulations submission and approval is a legal requirement of almost any building construction project. To comply with building regulations means adhering to a series of government issue documents relating to how the building is constructed. This is very different to the planning stage which in its simplest terms is all about what the building looks like.
The building regulations approved documents are a constantly changing set of technical parameters that all building construction must adhere to. We ensure that we are up-to-date with all current building regulations requirements.
We deal with building regulations approval on your behalf by submitting a deposit of full plans application to the local authority (or independent inspector). In order to submit the application we will prepare a comprehensive set of building regulations drawings.
We take pride in providing details and comprehensive building regulations drawings, often receiving praise from building contractors and surveyors for the clarity and presentation of the information we present.
We believe in ensuring that our drawings are easy to understand. Instead of simply listing multiple pages of text, we split the text down into easily readable individual headings. This approach simplifies the surveyor’s pricing stage, but also makes it easier for the building contractor’s understanding during the construction phase.
Whilst building regulations drawings contain a substantial amount of construction information they are not required to include details about the completed state of our building, so as an optional service, we provide our clients with additional drawing sheets that contain specific information about floor finishes and wall finishes as well as an electrical layout plan. This can be complimented with a written specification which when reviewed alongside a set of building regulations drawings enables a building contractor to provide a fixed price cost for any work that needs to be undertaken.
