Little Rissington, New Dwelling
This project is the creation of a new dwelling in Little Rissington, a village that is very much sought-after in the heart of the Cotswolds. We were able to gain planning approval for a new dwelling within Cotswold District Council, the client owned a small paddock with a small modern stable building located on the very edge of the village.
We worked closely with a planning consultant and decided on the design approach of a new dwelling to replace the existing stables. New dwellings within Cotswold District Council are achievable, but are still rare.
The client’s brief was fairly open, his simple instruction was to gain planning approval for a dwelling and left us to initially work through the design. We presented initial design drawings to the client, then working closely with him, we evolved some of the design detail and were successful with gaining planning approval for the new dwelling within Little Rissington.
After granting of the initial planning approval, we also gained further planning approval to extend this Cotswold dwelling with an additional glass room extension to the rear. We also sought consent and were successful in gaining approval to extend the proposed dwelling into the attic, with the addition of front facing dormer windows.
