Broadwell Barn Conversion
This new barn conversion in the beautiful Cotswold village of Broadwell, near Stow on the Wold, worked really well from a design point of view as the existing building was a beautiful, and fairly well maintained, traditional stone barn.
We gained planning approval within Cotswold District Council for this proposed barn conversion and furthermore this was a listed building, so we needed to gain listed building approval within Cotswold District Council for this listed barn conversion.
The design had to be very carefully thought through, not only were we limited with the amount of openings that we could install within the historic fabric, but we also had a listed farmhouse on the northern side of the property, so no openings whatsoever could be installed facing the listed building. Whilst being a challenging building to design, it was also immensely rewarding to get the design right.
We were able to convert and extend the existing barn to create a beautiful three bedroom Cotswold barn conversion. We retained many of the existing features and through careful design, were also able to create new design details.
