Balscote, Victorian Cottage Extension

My clients had outgrown their existing house, but they very much loved the house they were in, despite desperately needing more space. Attached to the rear of the house was an outbuilding that had gradually evolved into a utility room but was in a poor state of repair and was due for replacement.

We devised a plan to construct an extension to the gable end of the existing property. It was very important that the extension be designed to blend and to be respectful to the existing cottage, so considerable time was taken choosing the brick for the extension and incorporating some of the beautiful brick detailing from the existing property.

In my opinion, this extension stands as one of the most aesthetically pleasing brick match extensions in the area that I have seen in recent times. The chosen builder was very sympathetic to the existing building and undertook the work to an exceptionally high standard.
